VANCOUVER, BC (January 17, 2012) – GrowLab announced today that it has started accepting applications for its 2012 Spring Program. The Vancouver start-up accelerator is searching for the world’s best entrepreneurs focused on mobile, web, SaaS, E-commerce, and social gaming to form the next cohort.
Determined to find world-class teams, GrowLab’s co-founders will be touring throughout Canada and Europe in effort to connect with local tech communities. The list of Canadian cities includes technology hotspots such as Waterloo and Montreal. In Europe, GrowLab will focus on regions that appear to foster world-class computer engineering talent. As a result, networking events will be held in Bucharest and Budapest, among others.
The Spring Program will begin on May 21, 2012 and conclude with a Demo Day on August 21, 2012. Companies accepted into GrowLab will gain access to up to $25,000 in seed funding, mentorship, office space, and a network of influential entrepreneurs and investors. Upon successful completion of the program, all teams will get the chance to receive $150,000 in follow-on funding from BDC Venture Capital. Another integral component of the GrowLab agenda is the programming that will take place in Silicon Valley. As part of the accelerator’s mission to connect Vancouver to the Valley, teams will spend the last two weeks of the program in the Bay area to build relationships with investors, potential partners, customers, and fellow entrepreneurs.
Applications for GrowLab’s 2012 Spring Program must be submitted by Monday, March 19, 2012. To find out more, please visit www.growlab.ca/apply-to-grow.
