No doubt, you have all heard the news: Vancouver-based startup Summify has been acquired by Twitter.
In 2009, Co-Founders Cristian and Mircea moved from Romania to Vancouver to join start-up incubator Bootup Labs. Two years later, they’ve accomplished what many fellow entrepreneurs dream of and we’re thrilled to congratulate our Summify friends on this incredible success.
A special congrats also to Bootup Labs, who discovered the talented team from Romania and helped them grow their start-up here in Vancouver. Great job! Of course we can’t forget to mention GrowLab’s co-founder Boris Wertz who was one of the investor and active advisor to the Summify team.
Talking about Romanian talent, there are only 4 spots left for GrowLab’s event in Bucharest on January 26th. We chatted with one of how-to-web.net’s web editors this morning, who confirmed that the Summify news have caused a lot buzz and euphoria among entrepreneurs in Romania. The timing for Boris’ visit in Bucharest to connect with their local start-up community certainly turned out to be impeccable. Who knows – perhaps there will be another future GrowLab portfolio company among its event attendees.
